Voluntary Sector Review

Third Sector announced that the Government is to conduct a wide-ranging study of the voluntary sector’s long-term future. The review will feed into the 2007 Comprehensive spending Review, which will set government spending strategies from 2008 – 2011.
The last cross cutting review lead to the creation of Change up and Futurebuilders improving the Compact and paving the way for full cost recovery.
Guidestar:
All Charities are being urged by The Charity Commission to make sure they
are happy with the way summaries of their accounts are presented on the Charity
information website Guidestar UK. There have been numerous complaints from
Charities who say Guidestar data could lead to “more confusion rather
that increased clarity”
DIAL UK urges all member groups to check their entry onto the database. Les
Helms, director of development at Guidestar, said charities with any problems
should get in touch.
